About Brighton

Brighton, Michigan established in 1832 has grown leaps and bounds and currently has a population of around 8,000. The greater Brighton area has a population of around 60,000.

Brighton has a small-town feel with modern convenience. The major expressways with easy access in Brighton are I-96 and US 23 with Grand River Avenue being the main transportation road through the town. There is plenty of things to do with a fun downtown atmosphere. There is natural scenic beauty in Brighton with parks and lakes for recreation. Many of the neighborhoods are nestled in beautiful hardwood and spruce forests while several are on lakes. The downtown scene has nice boutiques to shop in, great restaurants, a wonderful children’s park called Imagination Station, and a pretty lively pub scene for nightlife.

Aside from Brighton’s parks and lakes, there are several golf courses in the area and a large sports complex off of US-23 on the outskirts of town heading towards Ann Arbor. Brighton is a great place to raise a family where you won’t live too far from work with most commutes to larger cities ranging from 20-45 minutes. The business and medical sector is growing in Brighton as well. In recent years U of M Hospital has made a growing presence, and now the most recent is a U of M Brighton Center that provides around 50 services and has brought in over 200 medical specialists.

Brighton Area Schools are highly rated, both public and private. Brighton has become one of the more sought-after communities to live in Southeast Michigan in the past 20 years.
