Kids' art is so unique! Check out these wonderful ways to preserve their creations and reduce clutter.

Here are five creative suggestions:

  1. Art Book: Combine various pieces of your kids' art into a beautiful book or scrapbook. You can take photos of the larger pieces or use a scanner for smaller ones. Websites like Shutterfly or Blurb allow you to design and print your custom art book. This is a space-saver and creates a lovely keepsake that can be looked at repeatedly.

  2. Digital Archive: To reduce physical clutter, consider creating a digital archive of their artwork. This involves scanning or photographing each piece and saving them onto a cloud storage or a dedicated external hard drive. You can then organize the digital files by date, project, or any other criteria. This also makes it easier to share with family and friends.

  3. Decorative Items: Turn some of the more cherished pieces into decorative items around the home. This could include:

    • - Making them into placemats by laminating them.
    • - Using them as the background in shadow boxes with other souvenirs.
    • - Turning them into jigsaw puzzles (online services can do this).
    • - Printing them onto cushions or tote bags.
  4. Gift Wrap: Some art pieces can be turned into unique, personal gift wraps. For larger drawings or paintings, use the paper as is. For smaller pieces, consider photocopying or enlarging them. Not only does this make your gifts stand out, but it's also a sweet way to share your child's creativity with others.

  5. Rotating Art Gallery: Dedicate a wall or a hallway in your home as your "gallery." Frame a few of the best pieces, and rotate the display every few months. This showcases their talent and provides a fresh look for your space. Alternatively, you could use a cork bulletin board, wire, and clips for an easy-to-change display.

Remember, as you decide what to keep and repurpose, the memories and the act of creation hold the real value.
